Product description
Lifting points, pad eyes and weld-on rings give a fixed or swivelling point to rig a load from. Made to EN 1677. Alloy steel, powder coated.
Sizes and ratings
20 sizes. Working load limit 0.3 to 20 t. Minimum breaking load 1.2 to 80 t. Every size has its own Indus part number in the table below, with the loads in the unit the manufacturer rates them in.
The lettered dimensions in the table refer to the dimension drawing shown with this product.
Manufacturer's data
- Forged / quenched and tempered.
- Rated with a 4:1 design factor between working load limit and minimum breaking load.
Choosing a size
Rate the point for the load and the direction of pull. A swivel point follows the sling; a fixed eye loses capacity when pulled off its axis. Bolted points need the stated thread engagement and torque; weld-on points need a qualified weld to sound structure.
Ordering

Size — Nominal size as the manufacturer states it. WLL — Working load limit — the most the part may carry in service, as the manufacturer rates it. Min breaking load — Minimum breaking load. A test figure — never lift to it. A — Dimension A on the manufacturer dimension drawing. B — Dimension B on the manufacturer dimension drawing. C — Dimension C on the manufacturer dimension drawing. D — Dimension D on the manufacturer dimension drawing. E — Dimension E on the manufacturer dimension drawing. L — Dimension L on the manufacturer dimension drawing. M — Dimension M on the manufacturer dimension drawing. L′ — Dimension L′ on the manufacturer dimension drawing. Ø — Dimension Ø on the manufacturer dimension drawing. Weight — Weight as the manufacturer publishes it. Ask us for the dimension drawing if you need it stamped.
WLL is the most the part may carry in service. Proof and breaking loads are test figures — never lift to them. Each load is shown in the unit the manufacturer rates the part in, and a size ships with the manufacturer’s test certificate.

Lifting points compared: weld-on pad eyes, bolt-on and swivel lifting points, and eye bolts
A weld-on lifting point is only as good as its weld. A bolt-on point is only as good as its thread engagement and torque. A swivel point turns to face the sling, but not every one keeps its full rating sideways. Here is how the four kinds of lifting point compare, and what each needs to be fitted properly.

Eye bolt types and angled loads: plain, shoulder and DIN 580 collar eye bolts
A plain eye bolt is rated for a straight pull only. A shoulder eye bolt pulled at 45° keeps 30% of its rating. A DIN 580 collar eye bolt has its own table for angled loads and none at all for a pull across the eye. Here is how each type is rated, fitted and derated.
