Product description

A heat-cured anti-friction coating filled with molybdenum disulfide and graphite, higher load-carrying capability due to resin selection.

Features & benefits

  • Outstanding lubrication properties

Applications

For metal/metal combinations with slow to moderately fast movements and moderate to high loads. Suitable for highly stressed sliding areas with low sliding speeds, oscillating movements or intermittent operations. For permanent lubrication at high temperatures and also where oils and Greases cannot be used. Used successfully for cylinder head gaskets and exhaust manifold gaskets of combustion engines.

Composition

  • Technology: Organic Binder, Solids, Solvent
  • Solid lubricants: MoS2, graphite

Available pack sizes

  • 25 kg pail
  • 200KG-DRUM

About this type of lubricant

An anti-friction coating is a bonded dry film: solid lubricant particles held in a resin binder, applied like a paint and then cured, air-dried or heat-cured. Once cured it is a permanent dry lubricating layer, typically 5-20 µm thick, that does not attract dust, does not migrate and does not need re-application.

How to choose

Choose a coating where oil or grease cannot be used or cannot be maintained: dusty and abrasive environments, clean assemblies, sealed-for-life mechanisms, plastic-on-metal contact, and points that are inaccessible after assembly. Surface preparation determines whether the coating lasts at all — the substrate must be clean and, for heat-cured grades, correctly pretreated. Check the cure temperature against what the component can survive before specifying; air-cured grades exist precisely for parts that cannot be baked.

How to order

Specify the pack size and, where more than one grade shares a name, the exact grade on the RFQ. Indus Hydraulics is an authorised distributor and quotes MOLYKOTE® from Dubai stock where the grade is held; less common grades ship to order. Our engineers will confirm the grade against your application and operating conditions before you commit.
